Global Games Jam 2014 and other updates

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d like to give a shoutout to all those who have been supporting me and following me on all my channels, you have no idea how much it all means to me. This also includes those who write about my stuff or make videos, I’m really thankful for the amount of effort some of you people have in showing your interest of my work.

Here’s one recent example that I’d like to show you, Gerry from MyGamesAreFun did a lets play of the first demo I did of Secret of Escape!

Don’t forget that if you want to do any writeups or videos of my games, feel free to do so and send them my way. Now onto the main part of this post, the Global Games Jam! Continue reading

Happy New Years: End of 2013

I hope everyone will be celebrating the new years like I am, 2013 was a huge year with loads of news and events going on within each week. And with the year coming to a close, it’s time for me to look back to see how far Gamepopper has come in this last year. Continue reading

GameJolt New Year’s Jam + TwitchTV Streaming

Hope everyone had an awesome christmas and a happy new year! Just thought I’d do a late announcement on my involvement in the last weekend jam for GameJolt this year. I’ll be working on a game in HaxeFlixel, and see what happens. I’m also going to be Livestreaming it through Twitch, so go and watch me here!

LAUNCH Conference 2013

So I mentioned last week that I was going to LAUNCH Conference 2013, as well as being short listed for the Best Portfolio LAUNCH award (see here to show I wasn’t lying). Now that it’s been over for some time, I figured I shall write about it.

I have returned! A brief summary of Iceland and Gaming News.

Yes! I am back from Iceland and I feel great!

Iceland was a brilliant country to visit, great views, calm city life and amazing hot springs which are better than any beach I have been to. While the weather was freezing, and was so cloudy I never got to see the Northern Lights, the holiday made up for it with heated housing and a really good location. I have scenic photos which you can see here.

So now it’s back to work from me! I’ll be at the Launch Conference in Birmingham on Thursday and Friday, where I’ll be wandering around talking to other devs (and maybe you), listening to the talks, playing some games, and I am shortlisted for the LAUNCH Conference Best Portfolio Award! I’ll be showing some photos of the event of course, and I’ll be continuing my development of Secret of Escape, so you might have a chance to try it!

In the meantime, feel free to read an article about Secret of Escape from 4logpc.com! It’s a great site about PC gaming that writes really good stuff, totally worth a read.

Gamepopper at Norwich Game Expo

So anyone who follows the Norwich Indie Game Developer Group or at least my Twitter may already know this, but I’ll be attending the first ever Norwich Games Expo on Saturday 12th October, at Epic Studios.

Eurogamer 2013: Day Two and the Loading Bar

Now is time for Day Two, where the zombies roam, more games to see and more indie stuff, and not just from Eurogamer itself! One thing I failed to notice from last night was this ambulance with the Surgeon Simulator logo on it, it looks really awesome!

Eurogamer 2013: Day One

It’s now time for the first day of Eurogamer, we started off early and arrived at the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre before 9am, and met a huge line of early starters, possibly wanting to get their Call of Duty Ghost Prestige Editions.

Eurogamer 2013: Day Before

Hey guys! It’s Saturday and despite Eurogamer still running until Sunday, I’ll tell you about my time at Eurogamer! This was surprisingly my first time at Eurogamer, I missed out last year so I really wanted to go after missing out on a lot. Thanks to being a Windows Games Ambassador, I volunteered help with Microsoft’s Windows 8 and Dreamspark promotion at the event and got to be a zombie! But more on that when we get to it, because here’s a summary of what happened on the day before Eurogamer started.
