Now is time for Day Two, where the zombies roam, more games to see and more indie stuff, and not just from Eurogamer itself! One thing I failed to notice from last night was this ambulance with the Surgeon Simulator logo on it, it looks really awesome!
It’s now time for the first day of Eurogamer, we started off early and arrived at the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre before 9am, and met a huge line of early starters, possibly wanting to get their Call of Duty Ghost Prestige Editions.
Hey guys! It’s Saturday and despite Eurogamer still running until Sunday, I’ll tell you about my time at Eurogamer! This was surprisingly my first time at Eurogamer, I missed out last year so I really wanted to go after missing out on a lot. Thanks to being a Windows Games Ambassador, I volunteered help with Microsoft’s Windows 8 and Dreamspark promotion at the event and got to be a zombie! But more on that when we get to it, because here’s a summary of what happened on the day before Eurogamer started.
Judging for Ludum Dare 27 officially ended at almost midnight last night. As such I figured it would be best to finally give my post-mortem, show my score and reveal my favourite games from this Ludum Dare all in one post!
Hey guys! Today is some sad news that I’d like to talk about.
If you haven’t heard the news, Blitz Games Studios is going to close down after 23 years. In a statement from the Oliver Twins (the founders Phillip and Andrew Oliver): “Frustrations with clients, the global economic crisis, and more than our fair share of simple bad luck have all conspired against us and we are no longer able to continue trading”. While a games studio closing down is generally saddening, what makes this so upsetting to me is that while I’ve never worked there, it feels like a personal loss for me.
Hey everyone! Secret of Escape development is going well, I have just updated the game’s page on both this site and indieDB and I have a brand new video to show!
Hey everyone! Great news, my entry for Ludum Dare 27 is online!
10 Second Paper Flight is a toss game, your aim is to make a paper aeroplane fly for 10 seconds, however it isn’t easy with the wind being powerful, and the things that parks get in the way!
I built the game in Actionscript 3 using Adam Atomic’s Flixel Framework, with artwork in Photoshop, Music using Bu-Autotracker and SoundEffects using Bfxr. Considering it’s my first original game programmed in Flixel (no going through tutorials or dabbling about like I have done in Flixel for the last month), it’s impressive I was able to pull this off in 48 hours, with artwork AND sound done by me as well.
Hello everyone! It’s time to fill you in on the new and changed things in Secret of Escape! I’m also adding this post on the indieDB page so readers can find out there as well, but continue here to get a taste of what’s to come.
